Another successful season for Curran Ladies bowlers

CURRAN Ladies Bowling Club, in only their second year of competition, enjoyed a fairly successful season.
They finished a creditable third in NIWBA Junior League behind champions Newry and 7½ points adrift of second placed dromore.

Overall the playing record for Curran Ladies in the league was Played 16 won ten and lost 6 for a total of 50 points.

They also reached he 2008 final of the prestigious Joyce Kavanagh Trophy, played at Divis, but unfortunately lost to Newry by one, with the last bowl of the final end being the difference.

All the Ladies, experienced or beginners, are to be congratulated for their enthusiasm during the 2008 season.

An invitation is extended to every aspiring bowler in the area to participate during the 2009 season.

Notification on the reopening of the Curran Bowling green will be advertised in the local press.
